Education Commissioner Leaving

Tennessee Education Commissioner Candice McQueen is leaving her post in January to run a non-profit organization.
Gov. Bill Haslam appointed McQueen education commissioner in 2015. She is leaving that position to become CEO of the National Institute for Excellence in Teaching, a non-profit group that helps states, districts and schools attract, develop and retain educators.
