By a vote of 4 to 3 the McMinnville Board of Mayor and Aldermen approved a resolution to borrow up to $10 million to fund renovation work at the McMinnville Civic Center. After nearly an hour of discussion, Aldermen Chastain, Kirby, Brock and Mayor Newman voted in favor of the resolution, while Aldermen Neal, Harvey and Alsbrook voted against it.
In other business, the board passed a resolution to approve the bid from Humboldt Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep-Ram for two half-ton pickup trucks for the McMinnville Community Development Department. The bid amount was $38,222.
The board approved a bid from the same company for one pickup truck for the Parks and Recreation Department in the amount of $19,111.
The board also approved a bid from Tinsley Asphalt for the renovation of two tennis courts in the amount of $74,020. for the Parks and Recreation Department.
