New Governor Elected

Tennessee will have a new governor in January. Republican Bill Lee won an overwhelming victory over Democrat Karl Dean for the governor’s office. Warren County voters went with the majority of Tennesseans as Lee carried the county 67 percent to 31 percent.
Scott DesJarlais carried Warren County, garnering 63 percent of the vote as he won re-election as 4th District Congressman over Democratic challenger Mariah Phillips.
Marsha Blackburn becomes the first female U.S. Senator from Tennessee as she defeated Democrat Phil Bredesen.
Republican Paul Sherrell won re-election to the State House from District 43, defeating Les Trotman. Sherrell took Warren County with 61 percent of the vote.
In District 47, Republican Rush Bricken defeated Mike Winton.
