At Tuesday night’s regular board meeting City Administrator Nolan Ming made the announcement that longtime employee Justin Scott was named the new Director of Parks and Recreation. Scott had served as interim director since December of last year replacing former director Scott McCord. Justin started with Parks and Recreation in 2005 as Program Coordinator. He was also the wellness and aquatic coordinator and was promoted to Assistant Director in 2013. Scott also interned in 2003 at Parks and Recreation and was a lifeguard in the summer from 1997-2002.
Scott said he was grateful and excited to be named the new director. One of his many goals is working on a future master plan for the center.
