Two Injured In Thursday Morning Wreck

Two people were transported to River Park Hospital Thursday morning following a two vehicle wreck on Highway 70 toward Sparta.
According to Trooper Rodney Whiles of the Tennessee Highway Patrol a 2017 Hyundai Tucson, driven by 68 year old Patricia Halteman of Rock Island was traveling on Moffitt Road and had come to a stop to cross the 70S bypass. Halteman then pulled into the path of a 2013 Ford Fiesta traveling eastbound, driven by 30 year old Asahel Ramirez of Woodbury, causing significant damage. Collins River and Rock Island Fire Departments responded and used the jaws of life to extricate Ramirez from his vehicle. Both Ramirez and Halteman were transported to River Park Hospital with injuries. Ramirez’s passenger, 34 year old Francisco Dominguez of Woodbury was not injured.
