26 year old Devin Austin Duke of Rock Island appeared in General Sessions Court Tuesday and waived his right to a preliminary hearing and his case was bound over to the grand jury. His bond was reduced from 650,000 to 100,000 dollars.
Duke was arrested in August of this year by the Sheriffs Department as he was found in possession of one ounce of fentanyl, 5.5 grams of cocaine, 100 Xanax pills, 3.5 ounces of marijuana, several thousand dollars in cash and two unregistered handguns. He was also found with digital scales and drug paraphernalia. Duke told officers at the time of his arrest that he was jobless and sold drugs to support himself.
Duke was charged with Schedule 2 fentanyl, and Schedule 4 and 5 Xanax pills and Schedule 6 drugs and unlawful possession of a handgun by a convicted felon. All charges were done in a school zone area near Eastside Elementary.
