Report Says Childhood Obesity Declining in Tennessee

A new report about child obesity in the United States shows the epidemic in children across Tennessee is declining.
The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation analyzed recent data and found Tennessee’s obesity rate in children from 10 to 17 years old has dropped significantly.
A previous study of 2016 data had Tennessee’s rate at nearly 20 percent with the newest survey is 15.6 percent for 2016 to 2017.
This ties Tennessee with Arkansas and California for the 20th highest in the nation.
Tennessee is also below the national average of 15.8 percent.
