The McMinnville Board of Mayor and Alderman Tuesday night unanimously passed a resolution for the McMinnville Water Treatment Plant located at 202 Bell St. to get a new roof. The building also houses part of the McMinnville Police Department. The board accepted the bid for Cripps Roofing for 69,171 dollars. Owner Jason Cripps told the board in the committee meeting that there some changes that made it the accepted bid. They include fixing the electric room and the building was in desperate need of new gutters. Cripps had submitted a bid before of 53,809 but did not include the electric room or the gutters. Alderman Stacey Harvey recommended accepting the 69,000 bid to have a buffer for unforeseen circumstances or surprises. It passed unanimously.
In other business, the board passed resolutions for the police department to receive a 2021 Harley Davidson Police motorcycle in the amount of 23,752 dollars and three 2022 Police Interceptor Utlity AWD Police vehicle from Ford of Murfreesboro for just over 100,000 dolalrs. Money will come from the general fund and drug fund.The board also approved over 444,000 for certain non-profit civic organizations and charitable organizations.
