A Warren County man was killed Wednesday in a two-vehicle head-on crash in Cannon County. It happened on Highway 146.
According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, 35 year old Freddie Eldridge of McMinnville was driving southbound on Highway 146 in a 2013 Honda Civic when he rounded a curve and his vehicle entered the northbound lane and collided with a 2012 Jeep Cherokee, driven by 51 year old Melissa Stringer of Smithville.
Eldridge, who was unrestrained, had to be extricated from the vehicle He died at the scene.
Stringer, who was wearing a seat belt, was injured and was treated at Stones River Hospital in Woodbury before being transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville.
