Two people were killed Tuesday evening in a wreck involving a motorcycle and vehicle near First Baptist Church.
According to Mark Mara of the McMinnville Police Department the call came in to 911 a little after 6pm . a 2018 Toyota 4Runner, driven by Alissa Rains of McMinnville, was making a turn from Donnell St. to N. Spring St. when she collided with a 2007 Suzuki Motorcycle, driven by 21 year old Bryan Jennings of McMinnville, traveling southbound on Spring St. The motorcycle caught fire along with the 4Runner. Both were deemed a total loss. Jennings was pronounced dead at the scene. Jennings’ passenger, 20 year old Katelyn Rogers of McMinnville, was unresponsive and badly injured. She was taken by EMS to River Park Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead.
Mara said that Rains is fully cooperating with the investigation. Officials were only able to locate one helmet at the scene and it was determined that Rogers was wearing it. Mara added that the investigation is ongoing and they are not sure at this time if drugs or alcohol played a part.
