A two vehicle wreck near Crisp Springs and the 70S bypass sent one to the hospital Monday afternoon.
According to Trooper Wade Myers of the Tennessee Highway Patrol a 2016 Kia Soul, driven by a 16 year old female from McMinnville, was traveling south on Crisp Springs Road attempting to cross Highway 70 when she pulled into the path of a 2010 Dodge Charger, driven by 29 year old Brendan Flores of McMinnville traveling east and sustained heavy damage. The Kia came to rest in the eastbound lane while the Charger was in the median. The female driver, who was cited for failure to yield he right of way, nor her 17 year old male passenger were serious hurt. Flores, along with one of his passengers 20 year old Shiloh Kittles of Louisiana, were not hurt. All were treated and released at the scene. However the other passenger with Flores, 29 year old Matthew Martin of McMinnville, was transported to St. Thomas Hospital in Rutherford Co. with femur and heel injuries and was in surgery Tuesday morning.
Myers said all passengers were their seat belts.
