City Board To Discuss Roof Leaks

The McMinnville Board of Mayor and Alderman will meet Tuesday night on the second floor board room at City Hall. Several committee meetings will be held prior to the regular board meeting, including Buildings and Grounds who will meet at 5pm to discuss leaks at City Hall building. It affecting mainly the third floor of City hall where the police department occupies a good majority of the floor. Human Resources Director Libby Rutledge also has an office on the third floor. Because of the snow and heavy rain last week Rutledge has had to relocate her office until the roof is fixed. Chief Nichole Mosley said leaks are affecting the training room, the detectives rooms and the middle to the right side hallway area. The police department moved from their place on Red Road to CIty hall in October 2020 and Mosley said they have been battling in awhile.

Mosley said of her first year things have been going well, it’s been busy and it’s flown. Among the things she’s proud of in her first year are getting a motorcycle for the department, another K-9 on the force and the support of the city baird and the community. Mosley added she’s proud of the officers in how they’ve handled working thru the pandemic. She said they’ve added more officers but are still in need of more. Her goal is to also getting the Citizens Police Academy going again this September,
