A house located near the fairgrounds Friday night was destroyed by fire.
According to North Warren Fire Chief Ramie Roberts they got the call early Friday evening that a residence at 51 Kayla Lane had caught fire. The owners, Edwin and Pam Myers were not at home at the time and no one else lived at the residence and there were no injuries. The house was deemed a total loss. Roberts said an alternative heating source likely started the fire but the actual cause remains undetermined at this time. Assisting the North Warren Fire Dept. were the fire departments from Centertown and Camapign/Rock Island.
The family had no insurance and are in need of everything from household goods to clothes. If you would like to help, Mrs. Myers wears a size 1 and 2 pants, small shirts and size 6 1/2 shoes. Mr. Myers wears size 36 pants, 1 XL or 2 XL shirts and size 12 shoes. You can also contact their daughter Kayla Puller for donations at 414-9526 or contact them on Facebook at Tinkay Renovations.
