A McMinnville man and his wife were injured in a two vehicle crash Tuesday morning on 70S near Pigeon Hill Road.
According to Trooper Joseph Van Bommel of the Tennessee Highway Patrol a Chevy Equinox, driven by 67 year old Robert Robinson of McMinnville was traveling westbound on 70S toward Woodbury when a Chevy Traverse, driven by 23 year old Crystal Messina of McMinnville, was traveling north on Old Nashville Highway and attempting to cross the four-lane and pulled into the path of the Equinox. The crash caused extensive damage to both vehicles, with the Traverse coming to a rest on its top. Robinson was airlifted to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville while his wife, Pauletta, was transported to River Park Hospital. Messina had her three year old daughter with her and they refused medical treatment at the scene and Van Bommel said they told him they would seek medical attention on their own.
Messina was cited for failure to yield. Trooper Van Bommel said all were wearing seat belts and the three year old was restrained in a child safety seat.
