No Injuries in Three Vehicle Accident Monday Night

No one was seriously injured in a three vehicle accident Monday night near the Highway 55 ramp.
According to Administrative Lieutenant Bill Davis of the McMinnville Police Department and Trooper Josh Sparkman of the Tennessee Highway Patrol a 2005 Peterbilt, owned by Vincent Trucking of Kentucky, was traveling westbound on Highway 55 when it exited the ramp at a high rate of speed and overturned. The trailer was carrying 50 head of cattle. Two got out of the trailer. One was hit by a 2001 Ford F-150 and the other was hit by a 2008 Hyundai Alantra. The drivers were not injured but the two cattler were put down. Three others inside the trailer were injured and had to be put down as well.
The driver of the Peterbilt, 51 year old Steven Lee Overstreet of Liberty, Kentucky received a head injury and left in a private vehicle. Sparkman said that Overstreet was on his way to the livestock barn at the Warren-Coffee Co. line. It was not known why he took the exit ramp. He was not cited.
