The McMinnville Board of Mayor and Alderman will meet Tuesday night in the City Hall Board Room on the 2nd Floor to consider a light agenda. The board will consider one resolution to name soccer field #5 at Pistole Park the Jimmy "Big Jim" Barnes field. Barnes passed away on Nov. 23, 2020 from COVID issues at the age of 66. Barnes was a longtime farmer and nurseryman and was a member of the Middle TN Nurseryman’s Association. He was an avid supporter of soccer in the Warren Co. area, even getting soccer broadcasted on the radio for the first time ever when the Pioneers came up short in the 2000 sub state but making it to the state tournament in 2001.
The meeting will begin at 7pm. It will be preceded by meetings of the Safety Committee at 6:10pm, Streets and Sanitation at 6;20pm and Water and Sewer Committee at 6:30pm.
