McMinnville Board

The McMinnville Board of Mayor and Aldermen Tuesday night passed a resolution to accept the low bid from Competition Athletic Surfaces for tennis court surfacing for the McMinnville Parks and Recreation Department. The bid was in the amount of $11,900.
In other business, the board approved a request from Leadership McMinnville to hold the Autumn Street Fair downtown on October 5th. The board also approved a request from Cruise In for Kids of the Community to use the City Mall Court and Farmers Market Pavilion restrooms for events on the first Saturday evening of each month from April through September, with the exception of May.
Also during the meeting, representatives of Young Men United expressed concerns about the possibility of the old Bernard School being torn down to build a new police station. Young Men United is wanting to establish an African American Museum in the building and to also make the needed repairs to the gym so that it can be usable again for the youth in the community.
