City Administrator Job Open Again

With Acting City Administrator Bill Brock’s retirement in less than 2 months Mayor Ben Newman announced Wednesday night that the adminstrator’s job is once again reopened for hire. People who did not get a chance to apply for the job earlier this year can now apply. Applicants who applied and interviewed for the job will not have to re-apply but will be contacted within the next month to check if they are still interested. Brock announced his retirement at the Nov. 27 city board meeting and would not seek the permanent position. Brock has held the job since 2014.
Newman announced at the meeting that the cut off date for the job would be Jan. 14, 2019 but some members felt with the holidays coming up that more time would be needed and felt it should be extended. They agreed to set the deadline for Jan. 31. Brock said with his retirement date Feb. 1 that, because of he new deadline, someone would have to be appointed on an interim basis until the job was filled. The board agreed and will talk more at the next meeting set for Jan. 8.
